Heart of the Bear Champion: A Celestial Soul Mates, Inc. Grumpy-Sunshine Curvy Girl Shifter Romance

The story of Nessa and Gaius was a good read. The fact that both of them thought they would never have a mate was so strong in them. Then to find that person you click with yet you have a match maker that has not even hinted that you have a mate makes Nessa push Gauis away. She is bossy, he is a champion together they are explosive. This other world story was about shifters but she only shifts once. So it is not really a shifter book. It is a book with shifters in the story. I liked how they met and learned to like and love each other without the match maker telling them "Hey this is your person." The other characters add some to the story but they do not play much of a role other than a few lines. The descriptions of the plants, surrounding areas and houses are very detailed. Also the bedroom scenes are plenty. Other books in this series might be worth a read as well. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Hot shifter romance! The Celestial Soul Mates’ oracle has yet to find a mate for Nessa Baxter. Maybe she is unmatchable. At least her dream job has become a reality. She is now personal chef for one of her close friends and has carte blanche in designing the kitchen. It means working with the grumpy, sexy bear shifter building it. Gaius isn’t a bachelor by choice but he has never found a woman he wanted as a mate but the bossy she-bear gets his attention. Too bad he doesn’t want a mate.

When strong willed Nessa and stubborn Gaius meet, their initial interactions are visceral and prickly. Attraction develops between the pair as they navigate conflicted emotions and their desires. Their story was fun to read as the elements of humour, heat and heart weave together. The book lays the groundwork introducing characters that will be in need of Liora's special skills. I enjoyed this revised version of Gaius and Nessa's love connection.
