About this ebook

What happens when a traditional horse whisperer clashes with an unconventional trainer within the charming Amish community of Honey Brook?

Grace Zook has always held a talent with horses, ever since she was a child growing up in her quaint Amish village of Honey Brook. Now, as an adult, she’s become a master trainer—but still struggles to prove to her father that she is worthy of taking over the family’s horse farm. With a fiery new stallion coming soon, Grace knows this challenge is her chance to prove she can finally take the reins.

When widower and horse whisperer Isaac King is offered the lead training job on a new farm out of town, he’s thrilled to finally make a name for himself and provide some permanent roots for his young daughter. But not only is the stallion seemingly unbreakable, so, too, is the owner’s headstrong daughter Grace, who has drastically different ideas about how to handle the impossible horse. Yet somehow, he can’t seem to get the confident, beautiful woman out of his mind...even though as his boss’s daughter, she is completely off-limits.

There’s too much at stake for Isaac to gamble his future on Grace...even though suddenly, he can’t imagine one without her.

The Amish Cowboy’s Homecoming by Ophelia London is the 2nd book in The Honey Brook Series. It can be read as a standalone if you have not had a chance to peruse Never An Amish Bride. I like that we get to see how Lucas Brenneman and Esther are doing since the end of Never an Amish Bride. It is great that we get to see Lucas offering guidance to Isaac. I thought The Amish Cowboy’s Homecoming was well-written with good characters and a beautiful setting. I like that Grace Zook is a strong female character who is bucking Amish tradition. Grace prefers working with horses that cooking, cleaning, and tending to children. Grace does, though, yearn for a man who will love her for herself (just as she is). Isaac King is a kind man who is a widower with a young daughter. He wants what is best for his child which is admiral. I like his attitude towards animals. Family, friendship, horses, faith, and community is at the center of the story. There is also romance and vandalism. Fires and thefts have been taking place in the community. They have yet to catch the people responsible. I did find the story to be a little long. It could have done with some editing which would have also helped the pacing (slow in some places). I also wish there had been more humor. It would have enhanced this charming Amish tale. I enjoyed reading The Amish Cowboy’s Homecoming which is a heartwarming story about a strong-willed Amish woman with a special talent and an Amish man who has a way with horses looking for a permanent home for himself and his daughter.
