Acerca del autor

Samantha Curry is currently a graduate student at the University of Utah in the Department of Chemistry. She obtained her BS in 2020 from the University of South Dakota, where she majored in Chemistry and Medical Biology. In Utah, her research focuses on the formation mechanisms of organosilica nanoparticles. When not in the lab, she loves exploring nature and spending time with her husband and two cats.

Ilya Zharov is a Professor in the Chemistry Department at the University of Utah. He obtained his BS in 1990 from Chelyabinsk State University, his MS in 1994 from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, and his PhD in 2000 from the University of Colorado, Boulder. In 2000-2003 he was a Beckman Postdoctoral Fellow at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research focuses on novel nanoporous materials, membranes, and functional nanoparticles. Among his awards are the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation New Faculty Award, the National Science Foundation CAREER Award, and the Robert W. Parry Teaching Award. He was named an Emerging Investigator by the Royal Society of Chemistry and serves on the Editorial Board of Current Materials Science and as an Associate Editor of Frontiers in Chemistry.
