Paradise End by Elizabeth Laird, author of The Fastest Boy in the World, is the story of an unlikely friendship between two girls who both long for a different life.

Elizabeth Laird has been nominated many times for the Carnegie Medal and has won the Smarties Prize and the Children's Book Award. She is the author of Red Sky in the Morning, Jake's Tower, Secrets of the Fearless and The Fastest Boy in the World.
She and her husband divide their time between Surrey and Edinburgh.
