About this ebook

THE FIRST MERCY THOMPSON NOVEL!

Moon Called is the novel that introduced Patricia Briggs’s Mercy Thompson to the world and launched a #1 bestselling phenomenon...

Mercy Thompson is a shapeshifter, and while she was raised by werewolves, she can never be one of them, especially after the pack ran her off for having a forbidden love affair. So she’s turned her talent for fixing cars into a business and now runs a one-woman mechanic shop in the Tri-Cities area of Washington State.

But Mercy’s two worlds are colliding. A half-starved teenage boy arrives at her shop looking for work, only to reveal that he’s a newly changed werewolf—on the run and desperately trying to control his animal instincts. Mercy asks her neighbor Adam Hauptman, the Alpha of the local werewolf pack, for assistance.

But Mercy’s act of kindness has unexpected consequences that leave her no choice but to seek help from those she once considered family—the werewolves who abandoned her...

“In the increasingly crowded field of kick-ass supernatural heroines, Mercy stands out as one of the best.”—Locus

Love love love this series. This is at least my 5th reread of this book, and it's good every time. Mercy is intriguing, smart, funny, and resourceful. Her friends are interesting, some funny, others grumpy, most of them highly dangerous. And her adventures keep you on the edge of your seat, book after book. Cannot recommend this series enough, it's my favorite. Patricia Briggs is an author whose books I buy the second they are avaliable and I never regret it.

Great author. Great universe. Don't start it here. Mercy sucks as a protagonist and the writing is a little too obsessed with sexism and women being lesser rather than proving the world wrong. There has been a lot of retconning and character deepening in the Alpha and Omega series, which I sincerely recommend. Start anywhere but here. Come back when you're out of content and desperate for more, like me.

I first saw this book in a library. Not even in the first chapter-- in the prologue, there is already this "Mine" cliche. Reading a books on wattpad and them having the same possessive wolf mate is just too expected. And not just that, but the book tells too much information in which it feels has if someone is reading you there diary than visualizing a story.
