That was an awesome read. First opportunity for me to read the works from Pepper McGraw. She did a fantastic job with this storyline. Defying the past and paving a new way after learning the truth. I absolutely love this series. The uniqueness of the characters is what makes this series so captivating. Highly entertaining spicy read of a budding romance between 2 souls that have been deemed enemies. I'm looking forward to reading more from this series!. Spoiler: Kasima is a Shadow Monster, hiding in shadows to keep her secret. At the academy they are trying to teach her to control her shadow monster but no one seems to know anything about them. When she pulls Jahdran Vilnik, a Valrulvka to her it turns out they're fated mates. When Jahdran realizes that Kasima is a shadow monster and his race is sworn to kill all shadow monsters. Can these two fated mates ever be together or will Jahdran exact vengeance as he is sworn to take.

A very engaging, enjoyable enemy to lover story in this series that's about Jahrdran a Varulvka and Kasima/ Kasi a Shadow Monster who were likable characters. Kasima raised into the human world didn't know she was supernatural until that fateful night she was attacked. This led her to become a student of the Blackthorn Academy for Supernaturals under the condition that she tells no one. Jahrdran fascinates her that she starts following him as Jahrdran hunts her in this engaging fated mate story.
