About this ebook

Fifth Book in the New York Times Bestselling Indebted Series.

“We’d won. We’d cut through the lies and treachery and promised an alliance that would free us both. But even as we won, we lost. We didn’t see what was coming. We didn’t know we had to plan a resurrection.”

Nila Weaver fell in love. She gifted her entire soul to a man she believed was worthy. And in the process, she destroyed herself. Three debts paid, the fourth only days away. The Debt Inheritance has almost claimed another victim.

Jethro Hawk fell in love. He let down his walls to a woman he believed was his cure. For a moment, he was free. But then he paid the ultimate price.

There is no more love. Only war. Hope is dead. Now, there is only death all around them.

I'm gutted...again. Pepper Winters took me apart piece by piece, page by page, and barely put me back together by the end of the book. She didn't spare anyone, let one Nila, Jethro, and the rest of the Weavers and Hawks. The only ones to enjoy themselves were Bonnie, Cut, and Daniel. I can't even type their names without shuddering. I know what I'm reading is not real, but that doesn't lessen my desire to reach into my e-reader and strangle them with my bare hands. I wanted the suffering of so many to end, and yet I couldn't force myself to stop reading and put the book down. I had to know what happened next. Nothing could stop me, not the fear in my chest or my anxious nerves. The Weaver and Hawk Saga is still such a mystery. Each debt has revealed something but with the massive shake up in the hierarchy of power and control, things have changed. With each new revelation, Nila is left with more questions as am I. She and I may have learned about Emma, her mother, but the questions raised about Jethro's mother and uncle have been left unanswered. The mention of a past couple bonded by and in the debt was also a small peek into what might be coming for her. Nila Weaver has an almost unbelievable will. She has been through so much and goes through so much in this book and yet she has limitless wells of strength. She relies on her different emotions to get her through the gauntlet she's facing. I admire her so much. The beauty and challenge of talking about this book is not revealing anything that could ruin the reading experiences for others. It's one that you've got to read to find out how it'll effect you. As someone who has repeatedly professed to not love dark romance with violence and mind games, I've become a huge fan of this series and Pepper Winters. It's become a not-so-secret addiction. I'm so invested in this story I couldn't stop even if I wanted to. Pepper is the queen of cliffhangers. I'm once again on tenterhooks about what will happen to Nila from this point on. Hope is such a precious thing and hers seems to be dwindling. Waiting as it always is going to be such sweet agony.

When I found out that fourth debt had been released and was available to buy... I was crying (okay not REALLY crying, but still) I was so happy and excited to flip through the first chapter with my greedy fingers that I could barely breathe. That's how much I love these books. There is not a single thing that I don't like about Jethro Hawk and Nila Weaver and everyone in between. I'll admit there were moments where I wanted to kick Pepper in the ass... but also moments where I really did shed tears.

Didn't love this one as much as the last but I've never been a fan of those important but time consuming "filler" books; I'm too impatient, I always want to get to the action.
