One of the things that really made the Halo saga so great was the sense of desperation, the constant pressure of loss, and the victories that were in themselves just a less significant defeat. This book (in addition to the Kilo Five trilogy) takes that all away. Everything works out in the end, and while there is a small loss, you dont really care. Its more of a token "hey, i can make you sad too" kind of death. Things just happen too conveniently, and you never really believe that they will ever lose. Its like North Korean propaganda, the glorious warriors defeat the evil.

Loved loved it..have read all Halo books and they just keep getting better. Hoping this turns into a movie because i know everyone would watch it its just packed full of action and mystery that involved the 3 most powerful sentient species on one magnificant artifact that is by far the coolest sci fi construction...the Arc...outstanding!!!
