Phytomicrobiome and Stress Regulation, a volume in the Microbiome Research in Plants and Soil series, provides a comprehensive overview of major abiotic and biotic stresses faced by plants providing key insights into advancements in the use of phytobiomes in stress mitigations of plants. Crop microbes helps plant growth and tolerance to a variety of biotic and abiotic stresses. Studies have reported that the belowground microbial communities act as regional drivers of the aboveground biotic communities. Further, in driving ecological functions, composition and microbial diversity are extensively recognized as key factors. Any change in the composition of microbial communities because of environmental change eventually effects the functioning of the whole ecosystem due to the strong link between microbial communities and soil functioning. Hence, changes in microbial community structure, composition and function are important factors to understand. Phytomicrobiome and Stress Regulation addresses the need for a more complete understanding for the responses and dynamic roles of microbial communities in mitigating various biotic and abiotic stresses particularly for future climate change scenarios. Dr. Noshin Ilyas is an Associate Professor in the Department of Botany, PMAS Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi, Pakistan. She has been always distinct in the academic carrier with a first-class first position in Masters and did Ph.D. under a fellowship from Higher Education Commission, Pakistan. She has supervised dissertational research work of 7 Ph.Ds and 31 M.Phil students. She has a good publication record in prestigious journals with an impact factor of above 173 and 1500 citations. She is an Academic Editor of PLoS One and guest editor of sustainability. She has earned several research grants from Higher Education Commission, Pakistan, and Pakistan Science Foundation. She is an active member of the scientific community and has presented her research work in various conference in the country and abroad. She is president of Pakistan Asian PGPR society and a member of various professional societies. She has received Research Award in the female category of Assistant Professor from PMAS-Arid University, and 1st Prof. Dr. Abdul Hameed Gold Medal in Applied and Environmental Microbiology from Applied Zoological Society of Pakistan.

Prof. Riyaz Z Sayyed is a Professor and Head, Department of Microbiology, PSGVP Mandal’s Arts, Science College, Shahada, India. Currently, he serves as the President of the India chapter of the Asian PGPR Society for Sustainable Agriculture (Estd 2019). To his credit, he has received the Fellow Indian Phytopathological Society Award (2021), Best Teachers Award, Young Scientist Award (2005, 2008, and 2012), Prof M M Sharma Award, Springer-Society Award (2020), Award for Excellence in PGPR Research (2017, 2018, 2019). He is Associate Editor of Environmental Sustainability (Springer) and Guest editor of Sustainability (MDPI), Academic Editor of Plos One, Frontiers in Microbiology and Peer J. He has over 25 years of teaching and 20 years of research experience in Microbiology and Biotechnology. He has authored and co-authored over 250 research papers in high IF international journals as well as multiple books and chapters. He has delivered many invited talks at several Southeast Asian and European Countries.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Azam Khan is currently leading as Chairman Department of Horticulture and Director CPEC-Agriculture Cooperation Center, PMAS-Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Dr. Khan Graduated from University of Agriculture Faisalabad and did his Doctoral from Northwest A&F University, Yangling, China with eminence and later on Post-Doctoral from Fujian A&F University Fuzhou, China. He supervised 15 Master and 5 PhD students in the field of Horticulture. His scholarly contributions include three books chapters, popular Articles and 70 research papers published in highly impacted international journals, well cited with good H-index. His Expertise involve Allelopathic crop interactions, Food Security and Urban Horticulture. He is main breeder of two Olive Varieties which has been approved by Provincial Government for commercialization. He secured 5 research projects funded by national and international funding agencies on horticulture crops. University granted him Best Research Award for the year 2021 in the category of Professor. He is leading the front on climate change, its impact on agriculture and mitigation measures. Dr Khan presented his research work in many national and international conference as Keynote speaker. He is also working as Director Quality Enhancement Cell of University to uplift quality parameter of the post graduate education. He is life time member of Asian Allelopathic Society and Vice president of Pakistan Society Horticulture Sciences (PSHS). In the recognition of his services Maldives National University appointed him as adjunct Professor.

Dr. Mix, Associate Professor of Soil and Crop Science and Project Director of The Small Producer Initiative (SPI), is a former vegetable producer from central Indiana. He operated a 20 acre commercial produce farm outside of Indianapolis in the 1980’s and 1990’s. He currently teaches and has active research in entomology, soil health, crop production and agriculturally related climate and water resources. He oversees several projects with graduate students; including multispecies intercropping, variety trials, soil health, climate change and Central Texas fruit crops, novel crops, and more. He also oversees the Texas State University Students’ Sustainable Farm. He is the Program director of multiple USDA programs; including Integrating The Small Producer’s Initiative with Research and Extension (InSPIRE), Texas State Supporting Small Producers (TSSSP), Boots to Roots and co-Project Director of Reaching Underserved Rural Agricultural Latinos and Veterans (RURAL-V), among a few.
