Book 2 starts right where book 1 finished so please make sure you have read Hard to Fake before picking Hard to Take up. Brooke and Miles haven’t had it easy but we all know the road to love can be bumpy but when Brooke needs somewhere to live Miles has no hesitation in offering her a place to stay. What follows is an entertaining read as these two try to make just being roommates work….. I’m loving this couple and watching them try to work out being roommates was at times hilarious

Hard to Take is book two in Ms. Lawson's Denver Kodiaks series and has you holding your breath a couple of times. We are given the continuation of Miles and Brooke's story from Hard to Fake, which now sees Brooke needing a roommate to pay the rent. Miles steps in and interferes with the process and now she is his roommate. What could go wrong? They are friends, had a great time in Vail, and now share a condo. They have gone from having a fake relationship to living together and the attraction that was there before is now even harder to ignore. The pull is just too strong to resist. Will their secret ruin everything? Their story is full of steam, angst and great banter. The writing is captivating, and the story is entertaining. One that is hard to put down. Yes, this book ends on a cliffhanger that has me wanting the next book in the series now because I need to know what is going to happen.

Brooke needs a roommate and Miles being every so helpful helps her find one that isn’t male. He does finally find her a roommate, himself. Platonic roommates only and very good roommates. The banter, friendship and chemistry between them was so good. Ms. Lawson really knows how to create characters that will pull you in and have you rooting for them. Love them as a couple whether it be friends or much more, they are a great couple, and I can’t wait see how their story ends.
