5 Star Review Operation Bailey Birthday (The Baileys #9.5) by Piper Rayne Have you ever wanted to dive into a book and yet dreaded it too? That was the position I found myself in with Operation Bailey Birthday. Knowing that this book concludes one of my top series of all time, I knew was it was going to be bitter sweet. This book was everything I hoped it would be and so much more. At the end although I was sad, I was left with a smile of my face. It was so great to be back with the Bailey family, to me it’s like coming home. Piper Rayne write characters that are so easy to relate to and they are not afraid to show them in all their flawed glory, it makes the stories that much more realistic. The entire Bailey Clan are in Lake Starlight and as expected there were laughs, some drama and a whole lot of love as the family prepare for Grandma Dori’s 90th birthday celebrations. Going in to a Piper Rayne book, you know that there is going to be humour, that’s a given, but this book had so much love, laughter, emotion and vulnerable moments and was so well written I was brought to tears. I was hooked from the first to the last chapter and this was a fitting end to a wonderful series and one that I won’t forget easily. There was nothing I didn’t love about this book.

5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Operation Bailey Birthday by Piper Rayne is a beautiful written, heartwarming read and a touching goodbye to the Bailey family. Each Bailey and loved one owns a special place in my heart and most of all is Grandma D. From the first book she made an impression with me. I loved her honesty, her sass, her take no BS attitude and her love for each of her grandchildren. I loved that we got to hear from the great grand children in Operation Bailey Birthday, it was fun and entertaining watching them interact with my much loved Bailey clan and catching up with their lives now. Grandma Dori loved her family. She put her own pain and sadness aside to help her grandchildren through their grief of losing their parents to help them find their way. She made it her mission to form a special relationship with each one of the Bailey siblings and when the time came for them finding their soul mate she was able in some not too subtle ways open their eyes and guide them in following their hearts. I found myself crying with the closing chapter, it was so so sweet and the perfect way to say goodbye to my much loved Bailey series. It's bittersweet to be saying goodbye to this fun, passionate and loving family, and I'm so thankful to authors Piper Rayne for sharing their characters and stories with us.

‘Cue’ wiping of many, many tears!!! The Baileys series is finally over and I’m sad, but oh so happy too. I loved this novella and hated when it ended. But what a way to go!! It’s a sad day for all, but Piper Rayne went all out with this amazing, heartfelt novella. With a glimpse fifteen years or so into the future, we get to see what life has brought for G’ma D and her grandkids. Each chapter is narrated by one of the older great-grandkids and it’s such a fun read. The kids are a blast, the Baileys still as in love as when they had their own stories. I laughed, cried, ground my teeth in frustration and ultimately swooned over and fell in love with all of the characters that Piper Rayne has so lovingly crafted for us to enjoy. This last novella was the perfect finish to the series. Next up is ‘The Greenes’ and maybe… just maybe, we’ll catch a little more of our beloved Bailey’s there too.
