cute story. I felt like Victoria shouldn't push her jaded views on her daughter. yes she should teach her daughter to be independent but not jaded about love. Reed was very patient and understanding. if Reed knew about Pete (Vic ex) and his wondering eyes, why didn't he warn Victoria? I think it was great that he was able to get her to open up about relationships using his "lawyer" method. Chelsea was funny

**I received an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review** I never tire of reading Piper Rayne books! They always have such a great balance of great story, great characters and sexiness. Manic Monday is the first book in the Charity Case Series and a fantastic start it was! Victoria Clarke has recently relocated to Chicago from California to help her mother who has recently been diagnosed with MS. Not only is Victoria dealing with a move and her mother, our recently divorced heroine is busy settling into a new job, raising her young daughter AND going to school to finish her degree. She's hardworking, independent and strong. When taking her daughter to school one Monday, she runs into an old acquaintance. While she doesn't know Reed well, the one thing she is, is intrigued, not only by his hotness, but also by the fact he drops off one of her daughters best friends every single Monday. But only on Monday. She's got to know the story behind that! Reed Warner is the Assistant District Attorney in Chicago and he's a man that knows what he wants and is willing to do what it takes to get it. He's patient, driven, handsome and honest. While working on the biggest case that has ever crossed his desk, he ends up running into Victoria in the school drop-off line and he couldn't be happier. While he wants to get to know her better, the baggage she has left behind from her failed marriage, has her skittish to say the least where relationships are concerned. Are Reed and Victoria destined to be stuck in the friend zone or will they be able to take their relationship to the next level? I adored this book! The characters were fantastic, the story engaging and the way that Piper and Rayne handled the MS in the book was well done. This was one of those books I just did not want to put down. They also did their job and made me very curious about how Chelsea and Hannah's books are going to play out. Can't wait for that! But in the meantime, run, run, run to pick this one up!

Manic Monday is the first book in the brand new Charity Case Series by the ama-a-balls author duo Piper Rayne. I’ve read every single one of these two authors books, well, writing as Piper Rayne that is and I can testify, hand on heart, (your honor), this one is my favorite. It’s set in Chicago and features Victoria Clarke, the recently divorced mom of seven year old Jade and lawyer about town, Reed Warner. Victoria lived in L.A and worked for Jared Kale whom we met in Chore Play, but after her mom became ill, she needed to relocated back home and he was instrumental in getting her new job there working at RISE. Now, she’s all about, work and school, both hers and Jade’s. If you want a little insight into how all this went down, then grab your copy of Clean Slate which is currently free. So, now she’s back home, living with her mom and working on getting her degree so she can start afresh. She’s not looking for a man, or a relationship, certainly not love, so when Reed breezes into her life she’s less than receptive, at least at first. Reed is a sweet, wholesome guy even if he is in Victoria’s eyes ‘a dreaded lawyer’. He pretty much wears his heart on his sleeve and isn’t slow at showing Victoria that he’s interested. He’s quiet mannered, driven and an all round good guy, but he’s got a fight on his hands to make Victoria see beyond the title and the fact that he not only knows her ex, he was friends with him, and his best man at the wedding. Victoria is laden with baggage from her broken marriage, she’s jaded and just isn’t ready to fall in love, but fate has different ideas. Will she succumb to the gorgeous sweet, hottie that is Reed Warner, or will she let her horrid ex win? Find out today when you One-Click Manic Monday.
