Omg i am a total sci fi junkie they are my favorite to read and Eve Langlais has knocked it out of this world with this one. From the moment I started it i just couldn't put it down. Now I am waiting impatiently for the next book in this amazing series to come out. He sprinted after his delivery gal, who hesitated before going in. “You’re not a vampire. You don’t need a special invitation to go inside,” he growled as he shoved at her. “Move.” “I don’t see how your puny trailer is going to protect us,” she muttered with a glare over her shoulder. “Then stay outside. Right now, I really don’t give a fuck.” Rafe a space gypsy hiding out here on Earth from the people that want him while collecting the most unusual delivery's to sell in space when he leaves. The added bonus of the hot delivery person with her Stan name tag (so not a Stan) makes those packages even better if only she would give him the time of day. Emma (Stan) has no idea all the stories that Mr Addibion are talking about could be real when she is delivering all the weird things he orders by the pallet full. To her he just needs to haves his meds upped to deal with it all and to bad because he is HOT! That is until her truck happens to blow up! "The universe is a dangerous place. the only thing that is certain is that nothing is ever safe." "How about if I just stick close to you." "Good plan. I'll protect you." His chest swelled. So she pricked it. "Let's hope you can since you were to pussy to let me have something to defend myself with." "I'd say your tongue is sharp enough." "Actually"-- she whirled and leaned in, her warm breath brushing his skin--"it's very wet and wild."

What a spectacular launch to this series! I couldn’t put it down. Between world building and plot twists I was glued to the pages and enjoyed every minute of it. This novel was action intensive yet still fun and light-hearted. Langlais balances the best of both to create a universe that I’m dying to travel in. The character intensive plot allowed me to experience the different cultures while getting to know the basis for what promises to be a fantastic series. The intricate world building was phenomenal, filled with fantastically vivid descriptions. The mystery that begins to unfold has me guessing left right and centre. As always, Langlais’ characters are vibrant and unforgettable. The animated back and forth between them really pulled me in. I love how loud and in your face they both were at all times. His cockiness and her refusals came together to have me laughing throughout. The collision of cultures and personalities was priceless. All the while, Langlais developed these two as well rounded individuals that I truly enjoyed getting to know and couldn’t get enough of. Not only did I thoroughly enjoy this novel while reading it, I’m also still thinking about it now and dying to know what happens next. Langlais has launched her new series with a flair only known in other galaxies.

Pirate by Eve Langlais Genres: Adult, Romance, Sci-fi, Suspense. 3.5 stars Tended to drag in quite a few spots. The flow was off. The premise was interesting. There is plenty of action/adventure. Just the right amount of adult romance. The main characters, Emma & Rafe, are amusing. Annabelle is the most curious spaceship I have had the pleasure to meet in a story! I can't decide if she is the ship itself or the computer that runs the ship. Or maybe both. Filled with snark, lots of grinning, snickering and laugh out loud moments. Some of which was from Annabelle (the ship). A fun read. I enjoyed it enough to continue with the series.
