Hi…! This is Placid D’Mello, your friendly neighbourhood daily cuisine coach/motivator/resource generator, etc. Since I have requested you to embark on a journey with me, I think that it is only natural that you get to know me better at the start. First of all, at least from my own point of view, I consider myself somebody you can rely on for your daily solutions to your daily food challenges. By daily, I mean what you consume on a daily basis – not when you have to party/ celebrate/ splurge… you get the drift. My only concern right now is that I am able or unable to connect to something deep within you…on the emotional level…because we are all emotional machines…literally driven by emotions either towards self-destruction…OR GREATNESS. Apart from my educational and professional qualifications – BA from IDE, Mumbai University (1999), HSC – Science, St. Xavier’s College – Mumbai (1995), SSC - Don Bosco High School, Borivali, Mumbai (1993), 3-year Diploma in Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition - IHM Mumbai (1998), CAIIB - Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (2007) & e-MBA in Banking - IIBMS Business School, Mumbai (2017)…I am a proud Indian (born in Borivli, Mumbai in the year 1977), deeply spiritual but pretty gregarious at the same time, open minded but also focussed, just your fun, above average IQ kinda guy who gets inspired by superhero movies, aggressively result oriented with my favourite hobby being – just doing nothing and yes my priorities in life are – in descending order – God, Country & Family and Friends. My intentions to write this book were inspired by my own life experiences, education – academic and professional, my family and upbringing, and most importantly – what I see around me on a daily basis, especially in the context of the aftermath of the Covid pandemic, the inability of people all around me to deal with the blow that has been dealt to them, to at least identify the problem and understand the opportunity that is contained within it, hidden in it’s soul, which must be broken at all costs, in order to revel in our dignity as a race which has not been beaten once, by things that have much more dreadful and circumstances much more stressful but most of all to revel in the same problem’s defeat and make an example of it’s weaknesses…for I believe we all have a lot of fight left inside of us, and surrender is not an option. Somewhere in the future, our descendants, studying their past, should do nothing but marvel at the astounding success that was attained by the people who they identify as us – the current generation of Boomers, Millennials, Gen Xers, the list goes on, and find the inspiration to deal with their issues…and crush them before celebrating their triumph, the triumph of the human race, one more time. All you have to do is decide now and act on that decision, without wasting any time whatsoever
