About the author

Susan Collins is a political theorist and Asoociate Professor of Political Science at Notre Dame University. She teaches the history of political thought, and her research focuses on classical thought, the intersection of ethics and politics, contemporary efforts to use Aristotle's thought in understanding and evaluating the problems of liberalism, and the classical alternatives to modern theories of justice.

Devin Stauffer is Assistant Professor of political science at the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in classical and early modern political thought. He has published several books on Plato and the translation "Empire and the Ends of Politics" with Susan Collins. He has previously taught at Kenyon College and St. John's College.
