With the aid of several different case studies, the entries within this volume show that works of literature and music are located in concrete living-world or discursive contexts, which serve the purpose of determining the location of the author and his/her work. In this way, the anthology aims to encourage cultural research, which, despite all theoretical exaggeration and hasty updates, reverts to the concrete texts within their living-world, social and historical contexts. To this extent, the "positioning" is rather programmatic within a renewing social history of culture.
