पंचतंत्र की कहानियों बहुत पुरानी हैं । वे मूल रूप से संस्कृत में लिखी गई थीं । ये छोटी कहानियाँ न केवल पढ़ने में रोचक हैं बल्कि बच्चों को नैतिक शिक्षा का पाठ भी पढ़ाती हैं । प्रत्येक कहानी कोई न कोई शिक्षा या सीख अवश्य देती है यही कारण है कि इन्हें सभी आयुवर्ग के पाठक बेहद चाव से पढ़ते हैं।‘पंचतंत्र‘ शब्द दो शब्दों के मेल से वना है ‘पंच‘ अर्थात पाँच और ‘तंत्र‘ अर्थात आचार के नियम। पंचतंत्र मुख्यतः पशु-पक्षियों की कथाओं का नीतिशास्त्र है, जिन्हें वच्चे वेहद पसंद करते हैं । यहाँ हम रंग-बिरंगे चित्रों सहित पंचतंत्र की कथाएँ प्रस्तुत कर रहे है । आशा है कि बाल पाठक उन्हें पढ कर आनंदित होंगे।
