This book attempts to understand and analyze the complexities of Punjab politics in a holistic manner. Going deep into the historical, physical, demographic, social and economic background of it presents a critical analysis of the electoral history of the state covering the period from 1967 to 1992. It also examines the factors that led Punjab towards terrorism and its impact on the development of the state.     

Finally, it analyzes the working and performance of coalition politics in the state.


About the author

Bhupinder Singh is Head, Department of Political Science, D.A.V. College (Lahore), Ambala City, Haryana. Earlier, he was a faculty in Political Science at Kurukshetra University. He has presented a good number of research papers in the national and international conferences. His several research papers have been published in different journals of repute. Also, he has contributed 26 lessons for Post-Graduate courses for Directorate of Correspondence Courses of Kurukshetra University. His areas of specialization are State Politics, Indian Government and Politics, Comparative Politics, and Political Sociology.
