This book, like many of its predecessors, was amazing. It focused on more characters than just the Companions of the Hall. It eluded to many exciting thing yet to come. I do wish Drizzt was in the book more, but the parts he was in were dramatic and amazing. The livelihood of the dwarves and the emotion behind their lives left a tear in my eye from the way they honor and care for one another. Seeing as this is the first book of a series I think it will be quite an epic tale!

WOW. Wow. For the first time, since I started the first book of The Legend of Drizzt series, I find myself unable to simply buy or check-out the next volume in the series. Whether it be this very real, and new cliffhanger, or the actual quality of the book, I do not know. But, at the moment, I view this volume as the best of the series, to date. I was originally skeptical of taking Drizzt back to his original companions reborn, vice allowing him to discover new allies and new challenges, but I have very much enjoyed the new wrinkles the Reborn Companions bring to the stories. Drizzt's black-and-white view of the world continues to swirl as Bruenor's quest for Gauntlgrym continues.

Bought this book the day it became available for preordering, and was extremely excited to read the sample and then the full book...at which point it says I do not have access to the full book and they expect me to pay for it again. 1 star until I receive what I paid for.
