Some secrets should never be shared. Sophie Whittaker shared her secret with a friend ...and a short time later she was brutally murdered. Detective Kay Hunter and her team will have to dig deep while tiptoeing through the lives of the elite. Sophie had been attending a purity party ... where she was to pledge to remain chaste until she was married. At the same time, her parents were going to announce her engagement to a young man in order to bring two families together in a business proposition. There are several suspects and they all seem to be hiding something and lying about others. For the 16-year-old victim, she has racked up a lot of people who might have wanted .. or needed ... her dead. This is third in an engaging series. I highly recommend starting at the very beginning, not only because the characters are finely drawn, but there is an ongoing back story with someone targeting Hunter. Someone is waging a vendetta against her and she doesn't know who to trust ... not her bosses, not her colleagues, not the man she loves. There are riveting twists and turns that make this one a real page-turner. Many thanks to the author for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Not nearly as good or engrossing as the first two. In fact it's kind of laborious reading. I read a few pages then look for something else to do. I'm on page 83 and it could have been condensed into 20 pages. The characters are not drawn out at all. Very slow going. I'm having to force myself to keep reading.
