Mauri Laakkonen on hausjärveläinen harrastajakirjoittaja, jonka tuotannossa runot ovat olleet pääosassa vuodesta 2014, jolloin hän aloitti kirjallisen uransa. Laakkonen on ollut mukana toteuttamassa kahta Mauri-vaarin nimikkokirjoituskilpailua ja julkaissut niiden ohessa viisi runo- ja tarinakirjaa Kalajokilaakson murteella. Rakas Raisuli on kirjoittajan ensimmäinen romaani.
