About this ebook

A 22-year-old Dorothy Gale searches for the Fountain of Youth so she can return to her twelve-year-old self after having been imprisoned by the Nome King while he ruled the Land of Oz. However, she along with Scarecrow, Tin Man and Hungry Tiger discover an abandoned castle in Oz haunted by golems! Based on the timeless classic L. Frank Baum Oz books. Events within Dark Oz take place after the acclaimed Caliber Comic OZ books. Collects issues 1-5. Overview: OZ is based on the characters and "history" of fourteen children books written by L. Frank Baum. Writers Ralph Griffith and Stuart Kerr have created an updated and unique world, no longer whimsical, but still lots of fun. While the familiar triple treat of Scarecrow, Lion and Tin Man play prominent roles, Griffith and Kerr have mined that magical world for the myriad of bizarre, yet endearing secondary characters which populated it. Prepare to be entertained with a truely unique tale from the land of make-believe.

About the author

Stu Kerr and Ralph Griffith embarked on Arrow Comics in the 1980's and made an immediate impact with their titles of Deadworld and Realm. Due to the distributor consolidation, Arrow Comics, as so many other companies, folded. While Deadworld and Realm moved over to Caliber Comics, Ralph and Stu continued to ply their creative writing skills and launched the very popular OZ series from Caliber in the 1990's and the series ran for 30 issues before it moved over to the newly resurrected Arrow Comics before returning to Caliber. Bill Bryan was the long time artist on the OZ books and has also worked with Caliber on Deadworld and Saint Germaine. He is a popular caricature artist in the Detroit area and was involved in the earliest days of comic fandom.
