Dr Raveendranath Veeramani is a medical graduate and a qualified anatomist with a terminal doctorate degree in anatomy. He has been formally trained in the study of human anatomy through cadaveric dissection, histology, embryology, and neuroanatomy at St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore. He is a dedicated teacher of human anatomy. He has taught undergraduate students of medicine, nursing, paramedical courses, and postgraduate doctoral trainees of anatomy, surgery, cardiology, and neurosurgery. He has an in-depth teaching experience of over 15 years with good interpersonal skills. He was the recipient of many awards during his undergraduate medical course. He was the recipient of Dr Percival Fernandez Award for the “Best Postgraduate in St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore. He was also the recipient of “Excellence in Anatomy Award, 2018 and Curis Remuneror Award at CIMCON Foundation in association with World Organization of Family Doctors. He serves as the reviewer of international and national journals of anatomy. He has been the guide/co-guide for doctoral students of anatomy. He has served as the examiner for medical undergraduate students of various universities. His research interests include clinical anatomy-related researches such as newer surgical approaches and reverse translational research—from bedside to clinical anatomy laboratory to solve the problems. He has around 50 publications in international/national peer-reviewed journals. He serves as a member of the International Advisory Board of Elsevier Global 3D Anatomy. He is currently working as an Additional Professor with the Department of Anatomy, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, India.
