About this ebook

Kristin Carey was nationally known for her on-air relationship advice, but when it came to Jake Hayes, "Dear Jane" was in over her head. Hiding out on a remote mountaintop with the gorgeous ex-cop was almost as dangerous as the stalker threatening her life. The tight quarters and secluded retreat made for some heated moments. Before long, one look, one touch...one incredible kiss, had Kristin filled with desire. But with her future so uncertain, she knew she needed to tame the emotions through her body.

After all, she'd come to Jake to save her life, not to lose her heart.

About the author

A bestselling author, Rebecca has been writing in the field of women's fiction for over a decade. She says she will never forget the first time she read a romance novel. "I was at my sister's house, sitting by the pool and trying without much success to get interest in the book I'd brought from home. Everything seemed to distract me--the dog, the kids, the seagulls. Finally, my sister plucked the book from my hands and told me she was going to give me something I wouldn't be able to put down. With that, she handed me my first Silhouette Romance novel and guess what? She was right! For that lazy afternoon by her pool, I will forever be grateful," says Rebecca. A prolific writer, Rebecca finds the field of contemporary romance immensely rewarding. Believing the romance genre to be a voice in women's fiction, she strives to create strong female characters and to address the challenges and issues facing women in today's world. "I don't think there's a romance writer alive who hasn't had someone turn a nose up at what we do. We're always accused of writing fluff. I write about women trying to balance family and career, women facing violence or prejudice, single mothers, biological clocks, marriage, divorce, infidelity--I would hardly call any of those things fluff," she says. Born in the Midwest, but raised in Southern California, Rebecca resides in the scenic coastal community of Santa Barbara, California. She is the mother of two grown sons and spends her free time hiking, biking, and taking long walks on the beach. "My sister and I live about a mile apart and every Saturday and Sunday morning--rain or shine--we meet at the beach. I bring a thermos of coffee and after we walk, we sit in our beach chairs, sip at our coffee, and talk about everything under the sun. We pretty much solve the world's problems--if only someone would listen!" Rebecca sees herself as Everywoman. "I've loved and lost; I've been up and down; I've succeeded and failed--we all have in one way or another. And it's that common ground I look for when I write. If I can't relate to the character or the story, my readers certainly won't be able to, either." Rebecca loves to hear from her readers and you can contact her care of Silhouette Books.
