The story is okay, but I don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth as the volumes get shorter. There are flashes of a really good story here, but their bogged down by needless stalling on details causing the pacing to suffer. It's getting to the point where an entire volume plays out like an episode of an anime. I don't know if J Novel Club is making deadlines too tight, or wether the writer is just getting lazy or what, but it just isn't worth the price, considering the price has actually gone up for less content. I'd like to see how the story ends, but I don't think I'll be buying another volume. the latest volume (15) is only 134 pages cover to cover.

nothing happens in this volume. at all. it's a short, under 150 pages, and could be summed up in about 50 pages if you removed all of the pages and pages and pages of the same descriptive filler that we've had since book 1. we get it: the Queen is nice but sucks as a Queen. I don't need to be told and shown the same 9 examples from every possible characters point of view in this book also.

It's a great series, with excellent writing. But it no longer qualifies as a light novel. It's just a short story. Especially given the detailed descriptive writing. If the next 'book' doesn't have a massive increase in page count (and I mean content page count; not side story and filler) or price decrease, regrettably, I'll be done with this series.
