I liked Prince of Thorns but it never took me any further than the second book King of Thorns. This book is just missed the depth of character and story. It seems that the story only involves around Nona creating an unrealistic set of events, all just to show how great she is "an underdog with special skills". Some hunting and sneaking and you are done! What do liked about this book is the lore and writing skills of Mark. He's a great writer, the lore is well thought of and maybe I should start the second book, just based on these two reasons. But for now I'll start with something else.

Mark Lawrence is a research scientist working on artificial intelligence. He is a dual national with both British and American citizenship, and has held secret-level clearance with both governments. At one point, he was qualified to say, “This isn’t rocket science—oh wait, it actually is.” He is the author of the Broken Empire trilogy (Prince of Thorns, King of Thorns, and Emperor of Thorns), the Red Queen’s War trilogy (Prince of Fools, The Liar’s Key, and The Wheel of Osheim) and the Book of the Ancestor series (Red Sister).
