Acerca deste libro electrónico

The dashing Captain Sylla plies the Caribbean with his close-knit crew: The Marquis, a former slave who sports a powdered periwig; the clever, craggy-faced Dutch; the burly, bearded Lenoir; and first mate Olivier, given to gloom and considered a bringer of bad luck. This is likely because he spends his time composing log entries addressed to a fictive British "Commodore" who will someday capture them. But perhaps he is the only clear-eyed one among them: luckless outcasts of imperial navies, these pirates' days of freedom and fraternity are numbered, as the forces of law, order, and capital bear down on them. Acerca do autor

From a young age, Vincent Brugeas has been passionate about history and literature in every form. After earning a degree in contemporary history, however, he decided to break with family tradition and move away from teaching, preferring instead to tell his own stories. It was in high school that he crossed paths with up-and-coming illustrator Ronan Toulhoat, and their meeting would ultimately change Brugeas's path. He began to focus on his own projects, working as a librarian while waiting to see his first published book hit the shelves. That day came in 2010, with the release of the alternate reality series "Block 109" (Akileos), based on the period of the Second World War. Brugeas and Toulhoat would go on to explore and expand this series over several volumes before turning their attention to another historical series, "Ira Dei" (Dargaud, Europe Comics in English), this time set in Byzantium in 1040 AD.

After earning a high school diploma in engineering, French artist Ronan Toulhoat decided to change course and become a freelance illustrator. A bold move that was greatly assisted by the publication of his first comic book series, the alternate reality saga "Block 109," alongside scriptwriter Vincent Brugeas (Akileos publishing, 2010). Toulhoat and Brugeas would go on to explore and expand this series over several volumes before turning their attention to another historical series, "Ira Dei" (Dargaud, Europe Comics in English), this time set in Byzantium in 1040 AD. In parallel with his comics, Toulhoat continues to work as an illustrator for hire, creating visuals for book covers, movies, and video games.
