But being a graduate student left her with enough time to keep working on that novel, so she went on to earn a Ph.D. in psychology. Somewhere in there, she finished that first novel and kept writing.
She then worked as a psychologist specializing in veterans with PTSD and was also a university professor of psychology. But turns out being a professor left hardly any time for writing.
