About this ebook

A former member of the violent Latin Kings street gang, Reymundo Sanchez brings his hard-earned experience and insight to bear on the issue of young women in gangs, tracing the heartbreaking transformation of a bright young girl named Sonia Rodriguez--who tried desperately to avoid the drugs, violence, and gang members that infested her family and neighborhood--into the ruthless and powerful Latin Queen leader known as &“Lady Q.&” From throwing punches and running drugs to getting shot at and doing time in prison, Lady Q follows the same dangerous, dead-end road as so many young men in gangs, until she realizes that saving herself and her children means changing course before it's too late.

Just learning about someone else's hardships in life just gave me a sudden urge to rethink mine. This woman done went through a plethora of heartbreaks and life threatening situations and still remains on her ten toes to this day! Wow. Thank you Reymundo, you have took me on a journey through Sonia's apprehensible past while at the same time inspiring me to stay on the righteous path, avoiding a life of crime or worse, death. Thank you so much, now I need to apologize to my Mom because Sonia's Mom is the exact opposite of my Mother after all. My Mom cares for me.

Well since I was only able to read the first 49pages, I felt that it was a fairly nice story in itself. I was bummed out when I noticed it had ended there and immediately called the local library to see if it was in. I had the feeling that many girls my age would love to read a book like this, because of the realist side of it and the intensity it achieves.
