Down & Dirty by Rhenna Morgan Men of Haven #6 One of the true pleasures in my life is finding wonderful characters that I would love to know in real life. Each and every book in this series is such a book. Who wouldn’t like to have a “family” of men who have chosen one another to be “brothers” and live by a code of honor that puts family first...no matter what. Add to that the men are HOT and ALPHA and know what they want when they see it and you have a series I eagerly await each book that comes out to see which man will meet his mate next. AND...this time it is Axel McKee who finds Elizabeth “Lizzy” Hemmings and knows she’s the one. We meet Lizzy as she is getting to perform with her band Falcon Black and then she meets Axel when she goes out to get the band’s payment from the club owner they have just finished playing in. The guy is a bit of a scuzz-bucket with a reputation for trying to cheat performers out of money and Axel, knowing this, steps in...and it does not go over well. So, how is Axel to woo the lady if he makes a bad impression? Call in a brother? Perhaps. What I liked: * Axel – what a wonderful man he is...in all ways always! * Lizzy – a brilliant musician and so strong to be able to overcome her past! * The relationship between Axel & Lizzy – sizzling and so mature – in more ways than one * Seeing the family members and how they are changing * Meeting the band members and wondering if they might have books of their own * Well...really...just everything about the book except for… What I did not like: * Joffrey – I was supposed to hate him and I did and was thrilled to see he was dealt with in the perfect way. Thank you to NetGalley, Lady Amber Publicity, HQN-Carina and the author for this wonderful book in a superb series. This is my honest review. 5 Stars

*Warning* Must wear gloves, turn on the A/C and have a cooler of ice cold drinks as well as a fire extinguisher handy ;) ... “DOWN and DIRTY” deserves 6+ stars IMHO, and showcases contemporary fiction at its very best! ... Get ready for a wild roller-coaster ride as we witness the torrid-hot romance between Axel & Lizzy with a touch of erotica, a good portion of drama and suspense, and the always satisfying sweet revenge! This book grabbed me by the throat from the start & wouldn’t let go, keeping me glued to my seat not wanting to stop whenever real life got in the way!! ... I didn’t want it to end, but was too addicted to slow down, then it left me craving more & threw in a major book hangover at the end! :o Ms. Morgan has exceeded all her previous phenomenal stories in this series, and then she totally raised the bar with this newest upcoming novel, not only for herself, but also for her fellow peers ;) Each fresh, new story in the Men of Haven (Brotherhood) is masterfully woven, has well-defined & relatable characters that practically jump off the pages with their witty dialogue! ... Not just the hot, sexy ‘alpha’ males with their hearts of gold, but also the smart, sassy, take-charge women, too! ... Amazing vivid descriptions and attention-to-detail, plus surprise twists and turns, had me either laughing or crying, and then other times my heart pounding fast! ... I just know this entertaining story will have (adults 18+) fans of fiction addicted like me, as they turn the pages like crazy, too :D ... BTW, each of these must read novels can stand alone, but due to the fan-freaking-tastic recurring characters in these 6 connecting books, I strongly suggest reading them in order for your optimal reading pleasure ;) ... I never write spoilers or recap blurbs, but I do know when a book is phenomenal and then some like this one! ... Even tho I volunteered to read this in advance, it was without any outside influences and these are my own honest feelings! This 6th & final story (actually the whole series) are now in my top 5, all-time favorite series ever, in over 30 years of being an avid reader of various genres of romantic fiction! Even tho I’m really sad to see this series end, I am keeping my fingers crossed for some kind of future spin-off ;) (pretty please?!) But I’ll always be anxious for anything new from the magic pen of this talented author :D

The sixth book in the Men of Haven series is a realistically gritty romance that brings this series to a wonderfully satisfying conclusion. Axel and Lizzy are strong, bold characters that readers can’t help but fall more and more in love with, the more they get to know them. Lizzy is strong but guarded heroine that is fierce and determined not to let anyone get the better of her ever again which adds emotional depth and realism to the character and the story. Axel is one sexy hero that exudes –alpha bachelor male, but then surprises readers with the strength of the protective vibe he gives off in regards to Lizzy and then there is his uber strong conviction in Lizzy’s talent and his determination to see that she has ever chance to reach for the stars. The chemistry sizzles between them with lots of electricity but the clash of wills between them has sparks flying throughout Axel’s stealthy courtship. The author brought the story to vivid realistic life with clever twists and wording while, the steady paced plot keeps readers glued to the pages with the suspense of the captivating and heartwarming path toward happily ever after and a realistic and gritty dialogue which ensures that this romance is one that readers can relate too and believe in.
