i read and watch everything to do with the illegal occupation of the north of Ireland by British forces and found this an excellent read....makes me proud as an Irish man to think of what our brave patriots have gone through. 1798 1916 1981 dates that mean so much to me...tiocfaidh ar la

About the author
Richard English was born in Belfast in 1963. He is Professor of Politics at Queen's University, Belfast, and his previous books include Ernie O'Malley: IRA Intellectual (1998) and Radicals and the Republic: Socialist Republicanism in the Irish Free State 1925-1937 (1994). He lives in Belfast and Donegal.
