As a Masters of Social Worker with my own OCD, this book is fantastic for a plethora of reasons. First of all, it is an informative book that discusses what intrusive thoughts are, the neuroscience behind them, what regulates/fuels them more, what you can do to ACCEPT them, and a multitude of other factors. So grateful that this book is out there in the world. It helped me with my own intrusive thoughts that disturbed me to the core. I feel the teachings of this book will assist those I serve too.

A good friend of mine keeps talking about having "OCD", so I picked this book up to learn more about it. The book has some really good information and helped me to understand what someone with the disorder deals with on a daily basis without getting overly technical. I am going to share some of the treatment options with my friend to see if it could help her.

I read this book with special interest, as someone who has struggled with OCD in various forms for longer than I can remember. The disorder itself is described in a child-friendly way, with simple analogies to explain even complex points. For example, OCD is compared to a hungry monster, who only gets greedier the more you feed it. Kids are encouraged to be OCD detectives investigating and challenging their behaviors and thoughts.
