An excellent sixth book in the Mercedes Thompson series! I have to give it 4 stars, I think it would have been five but from the first page I felt like there was something missing from the book. I feel like I missed something, maybe I just forgot in the last book but I didn't even know they were engaged, I guess it was assumed but I didn't know/remember, so it feel like there should have been a chapter before chapter one to me. Like I had skipped over it. Thought I do have to say the wedding was very beautiful! That being said it in no way affects how great the book was or how much I loved it. I think we really got more insight into Adam's and Mercy's relationship which was never really center point in the last books. Also again we see some of that odd humor in this book, like Coyote who was just plan funny, even when he wasn't trying to be..if that makes any scenes. I guess he just had a funny way about him. The walking stick,(a Fae creation) I feel has to have some mention, because it "just there" I always found that slightly odd, and in this one I guess we learn more about it. It really has kind of become a character in the books now. All together this really was a wonderful addition to the series and I would recommend that all the Mercy fans pick it up as soon as possible, a definite must read!

There is so much good to say about this book. I love the development of the returning characters. The mythology and personality of those presented in the story add greatly to its enjoyment.

I rate the fantasy novel River Marked (Mercedes Thompson #6) by Patricia Briggs 5 of 5 stars. This is the last of this series that is currently available. This story takes a different tact with Mercedes and Adam traveling on their honeymoon right into big problems with a River Fae. Why I say different tact is that this story was 90% Mercedes and Adam and the other characters in this world were minimal. Self-doubting Mercedes really has to step-up in this situation as Adam isn't as much help as usual. This was the most enjoyable story of the series and leaves me hoping Briggs will give us a 7th installment. Highly recommended if you have read the previous books. Overall I do recommend this series.
