About this ebook

Aquaponics is a hybrid of traditional food production systems that employs both aquaculture and hydroponics to grow food for personal consumption in a natural way. Aquaculture is the practice of rearing fish in water, whereas hydroponics is the practice of growing crops in water. Both strategies are used in aquaponics to offer the necessary elements for each to be effective. Aquaponics' natural benefits in producing protein and veggies for a well-balanced food source - all at the same time - is one of its best qualities.

In this book, we highlight more information about:

•      What aquaponics is

•      The benefits of aquaponics

•      Why it fits your home

•      The important elements and the growing medium

•      The setups you can use

•      Coming up with your own aquaponic garden

Aquaponics is one of the most sustainable ways to grow food. It involves a combination of aquaculture and hydroponics in one integrated system. Once you’re set-up, there’s very little maintenance or effort required. The basic premise of aquaponics is that the waste produced by your fish feeds the plants, and the plants clean the water for the fish, producing one continuous cycle.

As someone who had no clue that aquaponics even existed before being told about it by my gardening neighbor one day, I became curious and wanted to learn more about it, so I picked up this nifty little book. The author did an excellent job explaining in laymen's terms everything that you would need to know to get started becoming successful in aquaponics gardening, and enabling both your fish and your plants to thrive.

Previously, I've had interest in building hydroponic systems. However, the hassle of concocting the proper nutrient solution, the procurement of the multiple raw chemicals needed to do so (specially in a country in economic and industrial turmoil like mine), and the disposing of the old, mineral laden water kept me off.

Incredible introduction to aquaponics - superior to anything different books that I've seen. The book gives a decent beginning stage in examination on the Aquaponics subject and in addition a decent measure of particular information and an extremely composed set up guide.I preferred how the writer gives numerous alternatives to the readers from the kind of fish, suitable plants to sizes of tanks. The images/illustration are perfect.
