I think its rediculous this book has reviews that are all nothing but mediocre and act as though this book is middle-grade. I can tell you, I bought it last night and already ran through half of it. I cant put it down. Dont let people tell you its mediocre, in my opinion it's a fantastic book. And really unfair to compare it to WOT and say it's only worth a read to hint at that series. That's unfair to the author and to fans. It is yes, a barbarian novel, but it is not simply a macho show. The characters (if you take the time to learn the names and pay attention to events) arent just macho muscle, they have feelings, liking, tradition and culture. The story is not epic but epic enough for the Plain. And yes, there is torture, bdsm hints, slaves and sex and nudity. Is that a bad thing? Not if you're a mature adult who can realize it is the norm in this place and time and culture that this tale recalls. Wulfgar is badass, and a great leader, as well as an intelligent strategist. 5 stars

Too plain and simple, not enough detail, not enough character development.
