Book two in this new series sees the lasting effects of book one and the continued search for the killer. Tempers are high and everyone is suspicious. Even the scientist camp are having problems. Loved Rogan from the start. He was the character who was only on a need to know and it was as if he didn't really need to know much at all. Lisa is the new nurse along with Sidney, and it's only a matter of time before she gets involved too. We got some back story on Lisa and how she knew Rogan but we also found that he didn't really know his best friend at all. They definitely had chemistry together but we're both denying it. As usual we had Mountain in the background doing all he can to find his brother. Can't wait for the next book. This series is getting so good.

What a wonderful roller-coaster of events. Fast paced and guaranteed to keep you pleasantly intrigued. This is book two in The Shadow Recon Series and it is Rogan and Lisa’s story. Rogan had arrived at the arctic training camp to try and help find out what is going on. Lisa is a nurse who applied for the Arctic training but her nursing skills were needed to help Sydney, the camp doctor. It was a shock when Rogan found out that Lisa had been shipped in to the camp. Sabotage and strange happenings make this a fight for survival.

Rogan and Lisa were the "romantic" couple in this book. I didn't feel much heat, but definitely friendship with movement toward more. Both characters were likable and fairly easy going. They had an interesting history. As to what is going on in the camp, finding the missing people, dealing with the unsolved murders, or discovering a motive for anything happening is anyone's guess. I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received via Booksprout.

About the author

Dale Mayer is a USA Today bestselling author who writes for the young, the old and those in-between. Some of her books are hot, some are sweet. Some will keep you up at night with a light on to keep the boogie man away and some you’ll want to cuddle close. She’s long given up on trying to fit a specific genre. Instead she honors the stories that come to her – and some of them are crazy, break all the rules and cross multiple genres! And that’s okay too. There is one guarantee with each book – it will be a great read – each and every time.
