About this ebook

As the daughter of a famed author, Isolde Ophelia Goodnight grew up on tales of brave knights and fair maidens.  She never doubted romance would be in her future, too.  The storybooks offered endless possibilities.

And as she grew older, Izzy crossed them off.  One by one by one.

  • Ugly duckling turned swan?
  • Abducted by handsome highwayman?
  • Rescued from drudgery by charming prince?

No, no, and . . . Heh.

Now Izzy’s given up yearning for romance. She’ll settle for a roof over her head.  What fairy tales are left over for an impoverished twenty-six year-old woman who’s never even been kissed?

This one.

This is one of the most romantic novels I've ever read in a long time! It made me laugh and cry, and the chemistry between Ransom and Izzy has been palpable since the first few chapters. It's so cathartic to read how two people helped face and slay each other's demons. With every chapter they just fall deeper and deeper in love, and it has been such a joy to witness. Truly, one of my favorite books of all time. 🥰

What excitement, to have stumbled upon such a beautifully written story, and to discover it's just the tip of the iceberg! If this is representative of this author's works, I'll be adding them to my very short one-click list. Engaging story from start to finish. Characters with depth and integrity. Humour, wit, sensitivity and complexity. An extraordinarily satisfying ending (though I do rather hope there were further legal actions in the periphery... baddies should get their just deserts after all!). And manageable angst. Not belaboured. Such a pleasure to have found this author. Dual POV. Open door heat, but tastefully done and in character I thought. Well written and edited - no cause for grammar policing hahaha! That's a particular point of appreciation for me. Very much looking forward to reading more of this author!

Great love story.. Love it so much.. A must read.. Ransom and Izzy are the best and Ransom's blindness makes it more enchanting.. It is a strength not a weakness.. It shows everyone can find love, even the physically impaired..
