About this ebook

It was a marriage of convenience for everyone except the bride and groom. He never wanted to be a laird. She never wanted to marry one.

Wee Ellen Mackintosh, sickly and quieter than a church mouse, holds a secret that even time hasn't healed. Unable to use her voice since childhood, she's not up to being lady of the castle, but her father wants a MacKenzie son-in-law. So when the giant Silas Mackenzie returns to the Highlands, both their fathers' schemes take off like runaway stallions.

Too tall and broad for anyone's good, but especially his own, Silas breaks everything he touches. To appease his dying father and an increasingly rebellious clan, Si reluctantly agrees to the marriage, vowing to keep it in his kilt no less so when he sees the tiny, perfect creature they expect him to wed.

Unwanted but undeniable, the spark between them burns hotter by the day, even as they try to push each other away. But can Silas fight the monsters within his clan—or at war within himself—without her? Or will Ellen finally find her voice, only to disappear forever?

Second book in the brides of Chattan series.I absolutely loved Jory and Finn in the first book in the series. This is Jory's cousin Wee Ellen's romance.Ellen hasn't spoken since childhood. Ellen and Silas end up in a marriage of convenience which their father's have arranged. Ellen wanted to become a nun.She did not think anyone would want her. They are both surprised with the attraction they start to feel for each other. The feelings grow between them, but there are those who don't want them to get close and don't want Silas becoming the laird.Silas and Ellen are so sweet together. A sweet love story with lots of emotions, tears, humour, romance and a happily ever after. Cannot wait for the mext book by Rose. The heroine is unable to speak due to trauma and has an arranged marriage with the hero. Silas is an academic and would prefer to stay near his school instead of having to come home to be the next Laird of his clan. He has always been seen as a brute because of his size. His father is unwell and needs him. He is married to Ellen MacKintosh who has always been known as sickly and weak. But Silas is kind to her and slowly brings her out of her shell. I thought the letter writing was sweet but the secret identity caused drama. The heroine self harming was sad too. The hero really needed to grovel more as he did something silly at the end.
