About this eBook

In the zombie-infested, post-apocalyptic America where Benny Imura lives, every teenager must find a job by the time they turn fifteen or get their rations cut in half. Benny doesn't want to apprentice as a zombie hunter with his boring older brother Tom, but he has no choice. He expects a tedious job whacking zoms for cash, but what he gets is a vocation that will teach him what it means to be human.

Read through this book rather quickly. I found it fun, but not enough to pick up the next volume. The ending is rather predictable. Maybe more targeted for the 13-16 year old demographic. Interesting new take on zombies, but I wasn't into the whole feeling sorry for the zombies thing until the epilogue. In fact, it made them seem a whole lot less threatening than they should have been. Not bad. Not good enough.

1. This book was much better than expected. 2.Totally read it for the story and the characters, but... 3. I couldn't stop drooling over Tom. I should have know that was going to happen when one of my guy friends who had read this first admitted that even he had a bit of a dude crush on Tom. All in all I loved it and I'm buying the next book now.

Being a TWD fan, I'm often disappointed in other zombie books, movies, shows, but Maberry has a special talent for pulling you into his unique post-apocalyptic world and holding you there in the clutches of someone or SOMETHING until he decides to let you go Brava!
