About the author

Rowan McAuley has wanted to be a writer since she spent an afternoon in her bedroom, lost reading James and the Giant Peach, when she was just about the age of a Go Girl! reader. Rowan grew up in suburban Sydney, riding bikes and playing at the park with the sorts of kids that end up somewhere in the stories she writes. She has since moved to Armidale in the northern inland of NSW, and prefers winter to summer, dogs to cats, and running to swimming. She has written over twenty books, and some of them have been sold into other countries around the world including Brazil, the USA, Canada, Turkey, Italy, Germany and China. As well as writing, she loves teaching creative writing to kids and adults, and works part of each week in community mental health support.
