The RYA Racing Rules of Sailing is essential reading for racing sailors, club and race officials. The latest edition has been updated to reflect the Racing Rules of Sailing 2025-2028. There have been a number of minor changes but some of the key changes include:

•          Definitions – there have been changes to mark-room, obstruction, sail the course and the addition of a new definition of continuing obstruction.

•          Large parts of Part 2, Section C - ‘At Mark and Obstructions’ have changed on – notably to rule 18 giving mark-room and tacking at the zone.

•          Part 5 Protests, Redress, Hearings and Appeals has been completely re-written.

These new rules will apply from January 2025.
