‘गाणं हे पौर्णिमेच्या रात्रीसारखं असतं, बिलास. जो राग आळवला जातो, तो त्या रात्रीचा चंद्र असतो. अशा वेळी निस्तेज तारे दिसूही शकत नाहीत. जे ठळक तारे आहेत, त्यांच्याच सोबतीनं चंद्र प्रवास करीत असतो. बाकीचे सारे तारे चंद्राच्या प्रकाशात लुप्त होतात. ज्यांची चंद्राला साथ करण्याची कुवत असते, तेवढेच फक्त दिसतात. जो राग आपण गातो, त्याचंही असंच आहे. वादी-संवादी तेवढेच स्वर आपण पाहायला हवेत. तरच तो राग खुलतो.’ ...गुलशन, अब्बाजानसारखा गुरू मिळणं कठीण! त्यांनी नुसता आकार लावला, तरी कान तृप्त होतात. संगीत-सम्राट तानसेन यांची मैफल सजवणारं नाटक!
