About this eBook

After twenty-five years of active duty, US Navy SEAL Commander Eric Lopez chafed at his forced medical retirement. Bored, he jumped at the opportunity to work for a DHS Secret Division Command.
The new National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility had just opened and was already embroiled in controversy. One group protesting the facility want it shut down due to safety concerns. An animal extremist group in the area is known for terrorist activities. And, a contingency of foreign scientists and journalists will be visiting the facility and the cyber security chatter is that someone there will be threatening the facility.

With his background in biology, Eric is the perfect choice to go in to assess the situation as part of the foreign delegation, never expecting to fall for a beautiful veterinarian working there.

Dr. Lydia Hughes, a veterinarian at the facility, takes a chance on love again with a man she thinks is a journalist. But, just her luck, she ends up in the hands of kidnappers who have mistaken her for a lead scientist.

Eric pulls together a team and they race to find Lydia before the kidnappers discover they have the wrong person and dispose of her. Saving her life is his mission. Falling for the beautiful doctor became the unexpected reward.

Scenes in the book are similar to what you would find in an "R" rated movie. Intended for readers 18+.

I ended up really enjoying this one. I will be honest I was a little iffy in the beginning, but once Eric Kansas I got sucked right into the story. I ended having a hard time putting this one down. I really enjoyed Eric and Lydia together. They had great chemistry. The suspenseful part had me on the edge of my seat. I loved how Eric found some new meaning in his life and wasn't just existing. I absolutely loved the ending of this book. It had me smiling and happy sighing.

This story is a very good addition to the new series, Silver SEALS. These are men who have retired from duty , mostly due to injuries, and are called by a former Commander to help in a new very secret mission. This time, retired Commander Eric Lopez gets a visit from Silas Branson, the man in charge of the group. The mission seemed easy. Go to Kansas , act as a reporter, check on a new bio and agro-defense facility as well as on the protesters, and find out if there is a treat to the USA. Little did he know that meeting veterinarian Lydia Hughes would change his life forever and that there is nothing simple about this mission. The storyline is engaging, with suspense , whodunit and of course, romance. What I love most is that the series involves mature characters who have experienced the complexities of life. Both Eric and Lydia are very likable and a good match. Though it’s a stand alone, I highly recommend the prequel and book one . Can’t wait to read the next one. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

4.5 Stars This is book 2 in the Silver SEALs series and it features Eric and Lydia. The action was fantastic! The romance was real and steamy. Eric is such a gentleman. I love how they all came together to help him. It was the SEAL brotherhood at its best. The characters were fantastic and the story line was well paced. The action was detailed without being too wordy. The epilogue was perfection! I can’t wait for the next book.
