About this ebook

She was destined to be a weapon. Elise Kavanagh is good at one thing: killing demons, angels, and gods. For years, she was the death that supernatural creatures feared. More myth than woman, she walked the Earth as the embodiment of vengeance.

But Elise doesn't want anything to do with destiny. She wants time off to spend with the man who has long protected her body and mind. James Faulkner is a powerful witch, and the only one she trusts to protect her identity. Together, they try to become normal people...whatever that means.

Destiny hasn't forgotten her. It's not easy to retire when you were born to be a killing machine. Old enemies still hold bitter grudges against Elise. The demon overlord of her new home isn't happy to have the Godslayer hiding out in her territory. And there are still gods that need to be killed...

There's only one way out of this. Elise must descend into the infernal to become the very thing she's spent most of her life fighting: a powerful demon that feeds upon human flesh. A creature that might survive slaying God.

This collection contains all seven books of The Descent Series, as well as three short stories interspersed with the books.

I purchased and read Death's Hand on a whim and was instanly hooked. I finished the rest of the series in 4 days because I just could not stop reading. I just have to know what Elise is going to do next. I've also read Sacificed in Shadow but i'm going to finish the Season of the Moon series first (same writer btw) before I complete that series. Not only do I recomend this book or this series, I recomend this writer. I plan to read any and everything that she has writen. She has a way of writing that draws you in, gets you hooked and you become almost emotionally invested in each of her charecters.

Very well written. Gut wrenching loss and tragedy eloquently detailed in ways that make it relatable. Life isn't fair, life sucks, so having an ending that isn't HEA makes the series more satisfying and substantial for me. The time hopping style is a little jarring but not hard to follow. The flashback events help explain the relationships between characters rather than a sequence of events. It's written well enough to make sense and the reactions of characters are understood or justified. I love this series.
