काही काही रागदारीत काही काही स्वर वज्र्यच असतात... वज्र्य झालेला स्वर वाईट असतो म्हणून वगळायचा नसतो. तर एक राग उभा करण्यासाठी आपण तो खुशीनं विसरायचा असतो...वाद्यातल्या तेवढ्या पट्ट्या उपटून फेकायच्या नसतात, त्यांना फक्त चुकवायचं असतं...! म्हणून तुझ्या आठवणीत, सहवासात माझा नवरा बसू शकत नाही आणि एकमेकांच्या संसारात आपणा एकमेकांना स्थान नाहा लोकप्रिय कथाकार वपु काळे अतिशय सहजतेनं अशी चपखल उदाहरणं देऊन आयुष्यातली गुंतागुंत सोपी करण्याचा नेमका धागा आपल्या हाती देतात. त्यांच्या सर्वच कथांमध्ये कथेच्या ओघात मिसळून असं चिंतन येतं आणि ते वाचकांना विचार करायला लावतं. मुळात कथा अतिशय खुमासदार; सहसा कुणाच्या ध्यानीमनी न येणाऱ्या क्षणांच्या, घटनांच्या झालेल्या. त्याची अभिव्यक्ती असते वपुंच्या खास मिस्कील शैलीत! त्यांच्या लेखनातील जीवनविषयक प्रसन्न, उदार, आशावादी दृष्टिकोनामुळे त्यांची प्रत्येक कथा वाचकाचं मन जिंकून घेते. ‘स्वर'मधील कथाही वाचून संपल्या तरी मनात दीर्घकाळ रेंगाळत राहतील...
