Quello che doveva essere un sabato libero dal lavoro, dopo una settimana massacrante, diventa per Henry una strada in salita, irta di ostacoli. In programma c'era una partita a squash, una visita all'anziana madre, le prove di un concerto di Theo, il figlio chitarrista, e poi la cena a base di zuppa di pesce che è la specialità culinaria di Henry - una cena in cui si doveva celebrare il ritorno a casa di Daisy, la figlia che vive a Parigi, dopo sei mesi di assenza. Ma sulla levigata superficie della giornata da dedicare a tempo libero e famiglia parte un'incrinatura. Un banale incidente d'auto si trasforma nella minaccia che può distruggere tutto ciò che Henry ha di piú caro.
