About this ebook

I wish my job as a magical librarian was just about shuffling books and shushing people from behind a desk. Alas, the magic I wrangle requires a bit more than shuffling and shushing. And to make things worse, I have a frog and a cat, and I have no idea how to use them!

Sure, I understand, we all have bills to pay. Personally, I could use a bit of extra cash too. But I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t kill for it. At least…not without dark magic influence. And that’s exactly the problem.

Dark. Magic. Influence.

My first challenge for the day is finding that artifact and putting it under lock and key before it kills anybody else.

My second challenge is figuring out how to deal with a bossy frog and a pushy cat.

Which of the two do you suppose will give me the bigger headache?

Yeah. That’s what I think too. The frog and cat are going to be the death of my sanity.

Maybe I should put them under lock and key too.

Mr Slimy says - Hop to it and read this... Fortune Croakies is the second book in the Enchanting Inquiries series. It is a wonderful laugh-out-loud paranormal mystery story. Naida is a great character challenged with finding a dangerous artifact with the so-called help of the delightful Rustin Quilleran a.k.a. Mr. Slimy (the frog), and Mr. Wicked (the cat). I love reading about the different creatures in this magical world. I cannot wait for Sam Cheever's next book in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

In Fortune Croakies Naida, along with her friends, cat and frog, take on the Universe. Naida makes good use of some of the artifacts in her keeping as she searches for the artifact that is poisoning humans with greed. In this adventure, the reader gains a bit more insight into the inner workings of this enchanted universe. In her search for the poisonous artifact, Naida meets members of the Powers That Be, a gargoyle, a stink bug and dragons. I finished the book in one sitting.

The Author, Sam Cheever, has a way with her vivid descriptions of people, places and the unexplainable. You will feel like you are right alongside our heroes. Naida is a magical librarian (AKA, The Keeper of Artifacts) and she's learning on the job. Not really the best way to keep dangerous magical objects safe and out of the hands of the supernormal community. When Naida gets a summons for an old race car that's not a danger, but doesn't get a summons for an artifact that has killed at least two people -- there has to be a problem at the top. She has to find one of the Powers That Be and find out what's going on and how to stop it. This Five-stary cozy paranormal mystery is filled with a variety of characters. We have a kitten that the Quilleran family wants back, a couple of frogs, sprites, witches and all kinds of magical artifacts.
