Victoria is at rock bottom when she gets the news of the inheritance from her Aunt. As a city girl, moving to the country is a culture shock, but one that she embraces. Everything is great, except for her rude, overbearing, grumpy neighbour set on buying her new home. Being strong, capable and positive she is not letting that deter her. Tanner has a plan to buy and build on his old neighbour's property. Finding out that some city girl is thinking of renovating it, despite how beautiful, is just a setback. But getting to know her changes his world. Having shut himself off from feelings after his ex left him and his son he fights this need. As a driven, protective, alpha male having a new focus is unnerving. Fantastic story with great world building, genuine likeable characters, plot twists, shadowy bad guys and so much passion. This is only my 2nd book by this author that I have read and oh my did I love it, I got to one point in the story and thought it could easily end there and I would be very happy but it didn't, it kept on going, giving and kept making me happy reading it - it's going on my read it again list, I mean how could it not with such wonderful characters as Victoria and Tanner! I loved seeing these two clash, flirt, connect and give in to their feelings. I enjoyed seeing them grow individually and together as a couple. I also enjoyed trying to work out who was behind all the bad stuff and am really looking forward to reading the rest of this series. Great story. When down on her luck, Victoria inherits a farm house, the grumpy next door neighbor wants her property and has eyes on other things. This is a new hope for Victoria and she is hanging on to it. It's all she has. But super rich Tanner who is very alpha and gets what he wants usually, isn't happy with the resistance she is giving off. But their dynamic together is hot. This is an age gap story.
