This book is part of a series of books aimed at disseminating the accurate history of India drawn from the primary sources. History writing, especially about the medieval Muslim rule has been fraught with political correctness, controversy, and in several cases, downright falsification. This has occurred mostly with official state patronage. As a result, any attempts to correct this course has been virulently opposed with the result that most urban-educated Indians have now internalized a politically correct version of Indian history.

The history of Tipu Sultan too, stands as a glaring instance of this distorted historical narrative. Indeed, we have seen, read, and heard about a lot of people claiming to be freedom fighters and receiving pensions from the Government. Several of these worthies would not have been born before Independence yet they succeed in such blatant manipulations. This book presents to the readers an unfiltered and "uncleansed" narration of the life of a savage tyrant, notwithstanding the "shuddo-ashudho" circular of the indian left-leaning "intellectuals". It may be gory but it speaks the truth as written by the tyrant himself in his hand written letters. Providing documentary evidence from original sources this book is a must read for all the truth-seekers and historians alike to gain insight into the dastardly life of a bigoted tyrant.

Uncompromisingly dismantles the lies that Tipu Sultan was some valiant, tragic, freedom fighter. Sandeep Balakrishna scours the primary historical sources and pulls no punches in exposing the treachery of this barbaric, fanatical bigot on Indian Civilization. Being a Kannadiga, I'm glad this book will help people stop believing the fairy-tale Girish Karnad version of Tipu Sultan. Highly recommended to all students of Indian history.

Misrepresenting the facts and showing it to ppl is not called writing. Most of the details mentioned are the writers own state of mind. That shows how desperate he is for selling the idea of communalism. Shame on the persons like Mr. Balakrishna who has fallen down to a level where nobody can ever think of.
