After the day I’ve had, I’d sooner eat my boot than cook something. My brother Zack agrees, so we go to this hillbilly bar, where we keep a tab. One cranky woman and her sidekick show up, looking like lawyers among us cowboys, and we ask if we can help. The cranky one thinks we’re trying to steal her car, but the other one softens. All is fine and dandy until she hits us with something that would shock a groundhog back into his burrow until hell freezes over. The look in her eyes is what gets me. Fear. I can’t stand that in a woman. Especially this one, with the tough exterior, making out like she’s fine when inside she’s a crumbling mess. Never figured she’d turn things around like she does. Never figured I’d be the one to help her put it all back together. Never figured she’d see right through me yet show me the way in a way that nobody else has.

…and for the life of me, I never figured that she’d inadvertently bring so much danger to the ranch.

Deleted after a few pages. The story kept jumping leaving the reader to try and figure out the direction of the author. Not the best storyline, so didn't waste time trying to figure it out. Just deleted.

It has a cliffhanger ending! I found this book interesting. I understood how the hero felt he really lost both parents and this was a difficult time for the whole family. Kate and Ruby appear to be having car problems. Blake is at the bar when the girls came in and Zach volunteered to check the car out. Now these two guys are having one heck of a time with the ladies Kate is one rude lady. I have a hard time seeing Kate with either rancher. As the story moves along I became, connect with the characters and the ending to the book was unexpected and dramatic. There is plenty of heat going on between Ruby and Blake I am looking forward to the other books in the series to see just what happens. I did receive a free copy of this book from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.

This is book one in The Big Heart Small Town Address Series and it is Blake and Ruby's story and what a great start to a new series. When Ruby gets pregnant by Terence when they have a one night stand things start to get really complicated as he is rich and his father has just died leaving a complicated will that whoever out of his brother and himself gets married and conceives a child with in one year gets to run the company and he is determined to win with the help of Ruby who is carrying his baby. When Ruby hears of Terence plan she leaves and goes to live with her friend Kate only for there car to break down and it is Blake and his Brother that helps them. Blake runs the family ranch with his brother's and while at the local pub he meets Ruby who he is instantly attracted to her and he is determined to help her in any way that he can. The more time that Blake and Ruby spend together the stronger there feelings for each other grows but danger is just around the corner waiting to strike. Omg what a cliff hanger and I can't wait to read the next book to see what will happen next. I couldn't put this book down as it was so addictive and a real page turner that kept you on the edge of your seat. Sandy Appleyard is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and I definitely recommend you read this book and others by her and you will not be disappointed. About the Author

Sandy's first job out of high school was as an assistant animal groomer. Among many other jobs in her career, she's also worked at a prestigious winery that many well-known celebrities have patronized. With a college degree in Administration, she has several years of desk work under her belt, including her most current job at an established charity.

Often found in the lunchroom writing voraciously, Sandy has been called a 'writing machine'. Despite her forty-hour a week job, she still publishes at least one or two books per year. With a literary back list born in 2010, Sandy has branched out into several genres.

Married with two children and two furbabies, Sandy is a lover of all things four-legged. A strong advocate of health & fitness, you'll find her doing Yoga in her living room at 5:00 weekday mornings, which is sometimes when new story ideas come to light.
